Desire and Reality Series

Desire and Reality is a twenty piece work, each piece consisting of a 15″ x 15″ square panel oil painting, floating and framed.

This body of work uses the rooms of a house to express an emotional journey. The bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom become metaphorical places showing the acknowledgment of pain, the desire of freedom and the repair of immediate painful circumstances.

The story travels from the bathroom, which represents the collective conscience, to the kitchen, the room of nourishment, preparation, reparation, preserving and fixing things, on to the bedroom where the emotional language is suggesting hopes and liberation from the reality that exists. This is represented through the symbolism found in each piece.
