Painting Workshops & Art Classes

Old stone schoolhouse
The Stone School House built in the mid 1800’s now home to my studio and classroom

I teach art “socials”classes and or workshops, per diem $25.00 per person for a two hour session, anywhere in our region. I supply materials, paint, paper/canvases and brushes. Groups are fun and encouraged. Call to book a painting social gathering with friends.

Classes for oil and acrylic painting start in September and end in June.

6 week sessions starting at 4:30-7:00

2 1/2 hour classes. $20.00 per class pay as you go or $100.00 one time payment (allowing you two months to use up your six week sessions). Most student rotate a continual six week session all year.

Beginner to advanced painting one on one guided instruction. Teacher demonstrations student critiques. All classes include easels, extra brushes and (students should bring their own paint unless they are just beginning) turpentine, plus smocks.

Beginner instruction starts by “playing” with color to become comfortable with the medium, tools and the techniques needed to “find your voice” and communicate what you are trying to depict. Gradually increasing your visual ability to use drawing and perspective skills along with still life, painting from life paintings.

The base price for beginners includes paint use of tools and painting surfaces for the first six week session.

Advanced Plien air painting Sessions start June through the end of August. This is a free uninstructed type of group. As a group we choose locations that are known to be interesting and pack up our supplies and go paint. This is a social time and helping each other look at and critique works in progress is the goal. We then finish up in the studio in the fall.
